With comfortable, air-conditioned transport, high-end camp accommodations, and the warm hospitality of our team, this is the ultimate way to connect the desert gateway of Errachidia with the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco, Fes.
Upon arrival at Errachidia’s Moulay Ali Cherif Airport, your driver meets you. He will greet you at the arrivals hall. Then we begin a direct transfer toward the desert. The journey takes us through the stunning Ziz Valley. This area is known for its enormous palm plantations. The lush groves contrast dramatically with the arid mountains. As we approach the gateway town of Merzouga, the landscape shifts. The magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes reveal themselves. They rise like golden mountains from the desert floor. The sight is breathtaking. After that, we check into your hotel for a restful night. This prepares you for the desert adventures to follow. Dinner and overnight are in Merzouga.
After breakfast, we embark on a 4×4 excursion through the desert landscape. Our first stop is the Hassi Labied oasis. This hidden gem offers a glimpse of desert life. After that, we visit the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia. Their hypnotic rhythms are captivating. They are descendants of former slaves from sub-Saharan Africa. Then we meet local nomadic families. We learn about their unique way of life in the Sahara. They share their customs and traditions with us.
In the afternoon, we meet our camels for a trek into the dunes. The ride lasts approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. We stop atop a high dune to watch the sunset. The colours transform from gold to deep orange. Try sandboarding if you wish. Glide down the golden slopes for an exhilarating thrill. After that, we arrive at your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars. The food is rich and authentic. Berber music fills the night air. The rhythm is hypnotic and ancient. Marvel at the brilliant, star-filled sky above. The Milky Way is vividly visible. Overnight in the luxury desert camp.
Wake early to witness a spectacular Saharan sunrise. The first light paints the dunes in soft pink and gold. The colours shift with every passing moment. This is a truly spiritual experience. After breakfast, we return to the dune’s edge. You can choose between riding your camel back or taking a convenient 4WD transfer.
We then travel north through the stunning Ziz Valley. The vast palm oases stretch for miles. Then we ascend the Middle Atlas Mountains. The landscape becomes greener and cooler. We stop in the Azrou cedar forests. Here, you may see wild Barbary macaques. They are playful and curious. They approach visitors for treats. After that, we explore the alpine beauty of Ifrane. This town is known as “Little Switzerland.” Its chalet-style houses are surprising. The manicured gardens are charming. Then we continue to Fes. We arrive in the imperial city by evening. Your driver drops you at your accommodation. Your 3-day desert adventure concludes. End of services.
