    Itinerary

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorges – Tinghir

Your journey begins with a morning departure from Ouarzazate. We travel toward Skoura to visit the historic Ameridil Kasbah. This 17th-century fortress is remarkably well preserved. Its mud-brick architecture is a masterpiece. After that, we travel along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” This legendary route winds through the beautiful Rose Valley.

The scenery is dramatic and ever-changing. We arrive at the dramatic Dades Gorges for lunch. The towering cliffs and winding river create a stunning backdrop. Then we continue to Tinghir for your overnight stay. Check into your comfortable accommodation. Enjoy a relaxing evening in this peaceful town. Dinner and overnight are in Tinghir.

Day 2: Tinghir – Todgha Gorges – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After breakfast, we experience the towering walls of the Todgha Gorges. The limestone cliffs rise 300 metres on both sides. We stroll along the canyon floor. The river trickles through the narrow passage. The atmosphere is cool and peaceful. Then we journey through the lush Ziz Valley. This area is known for its vast palm plantations.

We pass through the villages of Tinjdad and Erfoud. Erfoud is famous for its fossils and annual date festival. We arrive at the golden dunes of Merzouga by evening. The magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes stretch endlessly before us. We settle into a comfortable hotel. This prepares us for the desert expedition to follow. Dinner and overnight are in Merzouga.

Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomadic Families – Camel Trek – Desert Camp

A full day is dedicated to the Sahara. We visit seasonal Lake Sriji first. This desert lake attracts migratory birds. Then we experience the soulful Gnawa music of Khamlia. These musicians are descendants of former slaves from sub-Saharan Africa. Their hypnotic rhythms are captivating. After that, we meet a nomadic Berber family. They live in traditional goat-hair tents. We learn about their unique way of life in the desert. They share their customs and traditions with us. In the afternoon, we embark on our camel trek.

We ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. The rhythmic sway of the camel is soothing. We witness a spectacular desert sunset from atop a high dune. The colours transform from gold to deep orange. Then we arrive at our luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars. Berber music fills the night air. We sleep under a canopy of desert stars. Overnight in the luxury desert camp.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

Watch the sunrise before trekking back to Merzouga. The first light paints the dunes in soft pink and gold. After breakfast, we travel toward Ouarzazate. We pass through Rissani’s traditional souk along the way. This market operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. It is the historical cultural center of the Tafilalet region.

The lively atmosphere is authentic and bustling. Then we journey through the vast Draa Valley. This is the longest river valley in Morocco. Its palm groves stretch for miles. The Anti-Atlas Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop. We arrive in Ouarzazate by evening. Check into your hotel for dinner and rest. The “Hollywood of Africa” welcomes you. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Telouet – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we visit Atlas Film Studios, famous for The Mummy and Gladiator. Next is the UNESCO‑listed ksar of Aït Benhaddou—an ancient clay fortress used in Game of Thrones. We cross the river on foot, explore its winding alleyways, and climb up for sweeping views.

We then drive through the Ounila Valley and stop at the crumbling Telouet Kasbah, a former Glaoui palace with faded mosaics. Finally, we cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m) and descend to Marrakech, the “Red City.” You’ll be transferred to your hotel or riad. End of services.
