Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech. We ascend through the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Our route follows the winding Tizi n’Tichka pass. We stop for photos of the sweeping valley vistas. The views are truly spectacular. Our first major stop is the ancient ksar of Aït Benhaddou. You will have plenty of time there.
Explore the winding, historic streets of this legendary site. This UNESCO landmark has starred in countless films. After a traditional lunch, we continue our journey. We pass through the lush Skoura oasis. Its palm groves are a welcome sight. Then we enter the dramatic landscape of the Dades Valley. The unusual rock formations stand proudly.
We check into your hotel for the evening. A relaxing dinner awaits you there. The breathtaking canyon views surround you. Dinner and overnight are in the Dades Valley.
After breakfast, we set off toward the Todra Gorge. You can walk along the river there. Massive 300‑metre‑high cliffs tower overhead. The canyon offers cool shade and peaceful quiet. Meanwhile, rock climbers scale the vertical walls. We continue our drive through the desert gateway towns. Tinjdad and Erfoud lie ahead of us.
Erfoud is famous for its ancient fossils. Artisans transform them into polished decorative pieces. We arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon. The golden dunes of Erg Chebbi emerge before us. Here, you trade your vehicle for a camel. Embark on a trek into the golden dunes.
The ride takes you across shifting sands. As the sun sets, the dunes glow warmly. You arrive at your traditional Berber camp. A delicious dinner awaits you there. Music fills the air around the campfire. An incredible night under a canopy of stars follows.
Wake up early to witness a spectacular Sahara sunrise. The dunes glow with deep gold and amber hues. This is a truly magical moment. After breakfast at the camp, we begin our journey back. We traverse the beautiful Draa Valley. This is the longest river valley in Morocco. The palm groves stretch for miles along the river. We stop in the city of Ouarzazate.
This city is famous for its film studios. We visit the historic Kasbah Taourirt there. Its clay walls and towers are impressive. After a relaxing lunch, we navigate the final stretch. The High Atlas Mountains lie ahead of us. We cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass once more. The views remain as spectacular as before.
By early evening, we arrive back in Marrakech. The Red City welcomes us with its warm energy. Your desert adventure concludes here. A transfer to your accommodation or the airport is arranged. You carry unforgettable memories of the Sahara.
The tour departs at approximately 7:00 AM from your hotel or riad in Marrakech on Day 1 and ends around 7:00 PM in Fes on Day 3.
The travel time varies by day, ranging from approximately 5 to 10 hours of driving, with frequent stops for photos, meals, and exploration.
